Valentine's Love Letters
Happy Valentine’s Day from CCCNews.
This year we put out a call for love letters from our community.
We are honored to share these messages of love.
To my sweetheart Dylan,
It was a long almost 4 years without you. Not a day went by that I didn’t miss your goofy face, you telling me every day how special and beautiful I am, and all of the times we shared with your sweet son. Growing back in to each other’s lives has reminded me of the joy I am capable of, and the love I am able to share. You are the best man and father I know. I know I have treaded lightly these past months, but I want and need to tell you on this Valentine’s Day the following: I loved you then, I love you now, and I’ll love you forever.
Your lady,
Kayla
To Peggy My Love,
You made me laugh so hard this weekend that toothpaste came out my nose. Ouch! But I still could not stop laughing for several minutes. It made my Saturday. It is these moments that I so cherish. It makes me realize I am the luckiest guy on earth to have found you so early on.
Love you,
Tom
To my Dear Robin,
The moment I met you I thought to myself, to fall into the orbit of a woman like her could be the beginning of the most beautiful life. It’s been two years since then my love and there are still roses blooming in the corners of my eyes when I see you smile.
Only yesterday, I thought to myself
One day people will ask me how I knew she was the one
And I’ll coin some clever metaphor involving the sun
But know this sweet love, when I speak of your shine
I barely touch upon all the ways you’re divine
And when I am asked why it is I love you
I’m sure to start babbling and making word stew
But I’ll tell them the tale of you Valentine,
And all the ways you taught me love isn’t blind,
It sees within, without judgment of doubt,
It cares for your soul, love makes you devout
I’ll tell them how you’re funny,
Say she’s light on her feet,
And she knows exactly how I like my tea to steep.
She balances every beam, kart wheels across the ground.
She loves dogs the most out of anyone I’ve found.
She’s a goddess of nature, as fierce as they come
A lumberjane by trade she calls the forest her home.
She’s a rising tide, lifting all boats
She cares about those struggling to stay afloat.
She keeps herself focused, poised even in strife
She keeps herself resourced and ready for life.
She’s got an ear of music
And a heart full of song.
Creativity is a friend of hers, the kind that’s life long.
In every symphony she’s the violin
But she plays for the passion of it not a passion to win.
She can charm any snake,
And she can bake any cake.
She knows how to laugh off any mistake.
She’s the rainbow in a windy sky.
She’s the tigerdove that just flew by.
When it comes to advice she’s a kick in the butt
I love that you know to fall down means get up
And that every moment is a chance to un-muck it up.
She’s full of joy and she’s full of might
In my darkest of moments she comes bearing light.
When things are rough and I lose all hope
She looks into my face and tells my demons ‘NOPE’
When I needed an opportunity she was there
When I needed an ally she told me she cared.
And when it comes to loving, she’s the one that I trust.
So Dear Robin, I want to say to you
I love your smile
I love your brain
I love your fearlessness when you meet new terrain
I love your optimism
I love how you laugh
I love when you tell me silly jokes about Giraffes
I love how you fly
I love how you cook
I love how you never do anything by the book
You’re outside the box
You’re inside my heart
I carry you with me and feed you sweet tarts.
I love how you learn
I love how you try
I love how you give me the space to fly.
I love how you speak
I love how you listen
I love the way your eyeshadow glistens.
My dear one I love you for every whispered word
I love you on faith - is that absurd? (Idk but it rhymes)
Thank you for being my teacher, my friend,
My dear companion, thanks for not leaving me on read
I know you hate texting, you’re not a fan of the written word
But I wrote this poem for you
So you’ll read it I’m sure
Whereever you go,
Wherever you’ve been
My love goes with you,
so I’ll see you then.
I love you, sweet Robin,
Thanks for being my friend.
Love,
Cole Dog
