Veterans Day Parade on Tap for Friday, Nov. 11, in TD

The Northern Wasco County PUD came out in 2021 for the Veterans’ Day parade.

The Veterans Day Parade in The Dalles pays Tribute to those we have served in our Armed Forces.

Our event will start with a flyover in honor of our veterans at 11 a.m., according to an announcement from The Dalles Area Chamber of Commerce.

The parade will begin at the corner of Webber and 6th streets next to Burger King. It will Continue east on Sixth and then roll onto 3rd Street and then 2nd Street where it will end at The Dalles Area Chamber of Commerce.

Bring your jacket. High tomorrow is forecasted to be 43 degrees Fahrenheit.

The parade starts at 11 on Nov. 11 in honor of the 11th hour.

Here’s why.

At the 11th hour on the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918, the Great War or World War I ends. At 5 a.m. that morning, Germany, bereft of manpower and supplies and faced with imminent invasion, signed an armistice agreement with the Allies in a railroad car outside Compiegne, France.

Our hats are off to Company G!
