The Dalles, Ore., May 29, 2025 — CCCNews caught up with Fred Coleman at Riverfront Park in The Dalles on Wednesday, May 28 as he trained his black Lab to retrieve a waterfowl decoy.

Temperatures in the 90’s made for a nice day of it as The Northern Wasco County Parks and Rec. opened the park last weekend in the span of a great set of spring days.

The National Weather Service is still sending us some warmth in the forecast through the weekend, but that ol’ mid-Columbia wind will be digging in a bit.

Today (Thursday): Sunny, high near 74. Northwest wind 11–21 mph, gusts up to 29 mph.

  • Friday: Sunny, high near 88. Calm wind becoming east around 6 mph in the afternoon.

  • Saturday: Mostly sunny, high near 83. Breezy, with west wind increasing to 17–22 mph, gusts up to 30 mph.

  • Sunday: Mostly sunny, high near 74.
