Eagles Tribute ‘Hotel California’ in The Dalles Sept. 3

Bishop Sanitation presents “Hotel California - A Salute to The Eagles,” coming to Lewis & Clark Festival Park in The Dalles on Saturday, Sept. 3. Gates open at 4 p.m. “A spirited blend of originality and the pursuit of excellence have taken Hotel California “A Salute to the Eagles” to a level of recognition normally reserved for Gold and Platinum recording artists.

By respectfully and accurately reproducing the Grammy award winning sounds of our generation’s Greatest American Songbook, this legendary Southern California group has touched the hearts of fans all over the world. The Dalles celebrates Northwest MuralFest, August 24 - 28, as 15 murals will be created all over town - artists and amateurs from the nation and the world are joining the local community for this awesome celebration of art and history. Call for Artists of the Gorge 2022 Exhibit

Submissions to the 43rd annual Artists of the Gorge juried art exhibit are being accepted at The Dalles Art Center through Saturday, August 27, at 5 p.m. The show is open to all artists in the Columbia River Gorge; 18 years or older. Max 2 entries per person and original work must have been created in the last 2 years.

Hood River First Friday returns Sept. 2

Visit Hood River announces the return of First Friday on Sept. 2, from 5-8 p.m. The September First Friday theme is “ Back To School.” Enjoy live music from CGOA Jazz Collective, Jamba Marimba (pictured) and Musango Marimba. Downtown businesses extend their hours to stay open later than usual, offering an enhanced shopping and dining experience.  

Come meet and greet representatives from the Hood River County School District, Food Services, Sports Teams, Robotics Club, Parent Clubs, Transportation Districts and many more.  Over 30 vendors, Smokey Bear and the U.S. Forest Service are scheduled to be in attendance as well.  

Oak Street from First to Sixth Streets will be closed to vehicle traffic beginning at 4:30 p.m.

‘Camp Fire Night’ at HR Library

On Saturday, Aug. 27, wrap up the summer with a night of “fire, friends and lots of marshmallows,” at the Hood River County Library. Meet at 8:30 p.m. in the library garden for a fun, laid-back night of not quite back-to-school fun. For teens ages 13 to 19.
