The Dalles, Ore., April 20, 2026 — From building snack boards and dancing robots to exploring poetry and survival skills, The Dalles Public Library hosts a full week of interactive programs for all ages.

Wild Robot Snack Board!
Monday, April 20, 3:15–4 p.m.
The Dalles Public Library, Teen Room
Teens are invited to build their own snack boards using fruits, cheeses and crackers, inspired by “The Wild Robot.” Food allergy notice: items may contain or come into contact with allergens.

Maker Monday: Dancing Robots
Monday, April 20, 5:30–7 p.m.
The Dalles Public Library, Makerspace
Participants will create a tiny dancing robot using a homopolar motor. Open to school-age children, teens and adults. Project includes neodymium magnets; caution advised for households with small children.

Little Learners Lab: Teeth…EW!
Tuesday, April 21, 11:15 a.m.–12:15 p.m.
The Dalles Public Library, Children’s Wing
A hands-on STEAM program for preschoolers focused on discovery, creativity and messy play. Children must attend with an engaged adult; drop-offs are not permitted.

Pokémon GO! Club
Tuesday, April 21, 4–5:30 p.m.
Meet in front of The Dalles Public Library
Join fellow players for a guided walk through downtown The Dalles to complete challenges and raids. Registration required. Children 11 and under must be accompanied by an adult and all participants must submit a signed waiver.

Minecraft Club

Teens ages 11–17 can play Minecraft together on the library’s iPads and server. Registration required; space is limited. Light snacks provided.

Fun Friday: Bee Bots
Friday, April 24, 3:30–4:30 p.m.
The Dalles Public Library, Children’s Wing
A rotating weekly program for elementary-aged children featuring activities such as art, games and beginner coding tools like Bee Bots. Designed for ages 5–10, but all are welcome.

Rock Collection: Take & Make Kit
Saturday, April 25, all day

Pick up a rock sample and fact sheet to add to your collection. Available while supplies last.

Survival Preparedness: Session 2 — Navigation 101
Saturday, April 25, noon–1 p.m.
The Dalles Public Library, Meeting Room
Learn basic navigation skills using maps, compasses and GPS tools. This practical class is open to all ages and requires no registration.
