Winter Weather Advisory: Snow, Wind, and a New Way to Track the Forecast with CCCNews

February 13, 2025 | CCCNews Staff

Well folks, it’s here, and it’s a stark change from our January sunbathing—it seems, winter is far from over.

A round of cold, snow, and gusty winds is rolling in, with the National Weather Service issuing a Winter Weather Advisory and Cold Weather Advisory through Friday night. If you thought this winter was taking it easy on us, think again.

We’re looking at 1 to 4 inches of snow in The Dalles, Hood River, and surrounding areas, with heavier totals in the mountains—possibly up to two feet by Monday. That means slick roads, icy bridges, and some questionable driving choices from people who should probably just stay home. The wind isn’t doing us any favors either, with gusts hitting 60 mph in the western Columbia River Gorge and making it feel even colder than it already is.

Extreme Cold & Travel Warnings

The wind chill is dropping to zero degrees in some areas. Yes, zero. Skin-freezing, nose-hair-icing, stay-inside-if-you-can kind of cold. If you must be out, bundle up, cover exposed skin, and take it slow—hypothermia and frostbite don’t care how much you love winter.

Roads? They’re going to be icy, slick, and just generally bad. If you’re driving, check TripCheck.com (Oregon) or WSDOT.com (Washington) for conditions before you head out. And maybe throw a blanket and some snacks in your car, just in case.

CCCNews Upgrades the Weather Report—Big Time

Here’s something to warm you up: CCCNews has launched a new weather service, and it’s way more than just a five-day forecast. Now you can see what’s heading our way in real time, with live satellite imagery, storm tracking, and even air quality updates at cccnews.com/weather.

Not only will you get radar views of incoming storms, but for the first time, you can also track pollen levels in the air. That means if you’re dealing with hay fever, asthma, or just hate the idea of breathing in a bunch of invisible floaties, you’ll have a way to know what’s in the air before it makes you miserable.

“We know our readers want more than just the temperature and a basic forecast,” CCCNews said. “We want to give people the full picture—storm tracking, real-time updates, and even the unseen stuff like pollen and particulates that affect air quality.”

What’s Coming?

This cold snap sticks around through the weekend, with rain and snow mixing in by Saturday night. Expect temps in the 30s and 40s, with another possible round of snow early next week. February isn’t done messing with us yet.

Want to stay ahead of the storm? Keep up with the latest at cccnews.com/weather and check those road conditions before heading out.

Winter’s still got a grip on the Gorge—stay warm, stay safe, and if all else fails, stay inside with something hot to drink.
