The Dalles, Ore., Oct. 19, 2026 — Something wickedly fun swept through The Dalles over the weekend as witches traded their broomsticks for dancing shoes during the annual Witches Walk and second annual Witches Walk Masquerade Ball.

The magic began Friday night, Oct. 16, at Sunshine Mill, where witches and other mysterious characters arrived dressed to impress. Elaborate gowns, masks, pointed hats and colorful costumes filled the winery as guests enjoyed music, dancing and a little Halloween mischief.

DJ MR.ELIVE kept the party moving, while Lockstock Barbeque, Cupcakes by Cyndi and Sunshine Mill provided food, sweets and drinks. A costume contest and photo booth added to the festivities.

But the witches weren't finished casting their spells.

On Saturday, Oct. 17, the celebration spilled into downtown The Dalles as witches of all shapes, sizes, and ages took to the streets.

More than two dozen local businesses joined the fun, with many transforming their shops into witch-themed destinations.

The highlight came when a gathering of witches performed a coordinated broomstick dance in front of Dean Dollarhide's State Farm office. With broomsticks raised high, the costumed dancers put on a show for a crowd of spectators who gathered to watch and snap photos.

From glamorous masquerade costumes to pointy hats and flying broomsticks, the weekend brought plenty of Halloween spirit to downtown The Dalles.

And judging by the costumes, these witches certainly knew how to dress for the occasion.
