Art markets, interactive art experiences and demonstrations, dancing, bands, and a splatter tent experience are all on tap as Goldendale celebrates on Sept. 23 to a backdrop of public art that has been part of the revitalization and beautification project at the four corners of its downtown.

Joel Vaught was sworn in as the new Zone 5 Board member for the North Wasco County School District on August 24th after the School Board interviewed six different applicants.

Starting Monday, August 7th, 2023 at 9 a.m. the Hood River Armory and Gorge Roller Derby will welcome kids aged 9 to 17 to build confidence, teamwork, have fun skating, and learn the basics of roller skating, and roller derby!

North Wasco County School District (NWCSD) is pleased to announce CJ Toole as the district’s new Director of Intervention and Prevention.

Sixteen local middle school and high school educators gained a greater understanding of career paths in Advanced Manufacturing, a prominent field in the Gorge region. This year’s event marked the 2nd Educator Externship hosted by the Columbia Gorge STEM Hub at Columbia Gorge Education Service District (CGESD).

“I just want to give my insight and knowledge (as a student) to the board to help them make more beneficial decisions,” junior Kaleb Blaylock said. “It’s hard to see problems on the ground…” 

When asked about the factors that will shape her decision-making as a school board member, Dayna Wynn-Elledge emphasizes her commitment to fairness and thoroughness. She pledges to review all relevant information presented, listen attentively to all perspectives, and make decisions that best serve the needs of the situation at hand.
