Couple injured in 2018 seek $1.2 million from Cruise organizers
The crash and burn of Ronald Leroy Madorin’s 1955 Chevy Bel Air after a burnout on Second Street in 2018 has a local couple who were injured during the wreck seeking $1.2 million in compensation. They are seeking compensation from The City of The Dalles, The Dalles Main Street Program, The Rotary Club of The Dalles and the Mid-Columbia Car Club.

A walker strides past some incredible views at Sorosis Park in The Dalles this morning, Tuesday, Dec. 8. A crisp 35 degrees and some opening skies shed a bit more light on things this morning. Sunny skies are expected through Wednesday with a high of 53 degrees Fahrenheit. Chances of rain are increasing starting on Thursday with snow forecast in the upper elevations.
The Dalles Art Center Installs Home Away from Home for Traveling Sculptures
The Dalles Art Center has installed two new concrete bases which will soon be home away from home for traveling sculptures which will visit TDAC in the near future.
Klickitat County Reports Active COVID-19 Outbreak
Klickitat County Health Department (KCHD) has received notification from Skyline Health of two staff members with COVID-19 positive tests. At the time of this press release these individuals are self-isolating and no additional hospitalizations have occurred.
Salvation Army Food pantry propped up with $30,000 in contributions
A tidal wave of contributions for The Salvation Army has poured in during the past 24 hours, according to multiple officials and business leaders.
“What a great community we have,” said Chris Zukin who sits on the advisory board for The Salvation Army.
White Salmon to hold Virtual Tree lighting on Saturday, Dec. 5, 5 p.m.
White-Salmon's annual holiday tradition is moving online this year. $700k in COVID relief to be granted to businesses this month
Local businesses hurting from the pandemic may see some financial relief in the form of grants in weeks to come. That may be good news for businesses such as restaurants or gyms that have seen a vast drop in revenue or even forced to temporarily close such as in the case of athletic clubs. Grants to be available as early as next week.
Richardson appointed to D21 School Board
North Wasco County School District is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Judy Richardson to serve in the role of School Board Member for the Zone 7 position. Dr. Richardson was appointed by the NWC Board of Directors on November 19th, 2020 in a unanimous affirmative vote.

The Dalles Community Thanksgiving Meal aims to feed some 700 on Thursday as volunteers are prepping, stirring and cooking for the big day. The annual feed will be different this year with the community meal being replaced with take-out and home delivery. Volunteers are still needed.
Woolsey Family to light up The Dalles
Like the gathering of family at the holidays, an old friend will return to us this Friday when a young boy will light the Woolsey Christmas tree east of Sorosis Park the day after Thanksgiving.
