2023 Starlight Parade & Christmas Tree Lighting

The Dalles Starlight Parade and Tree Lighting returns on November 24th to kick off the Holiday season with a burst of Christmas magic. Join us at 6:00 PM on our regular parade route in The Dalles for a dazzling parade featuring festive floats, marching bands, and a visit from Santa Claus. Afterward, head to The Dalles Chamber to witness the Tree Lighting Ceremony, filling the heart of the city with warmth and joy.

Over 250 People Attend Dia de los Muertos Celebration in The Dalles

A Dia de los Muertos celebration at The Dalles Wasco County Library, saw an enormous attendance of over 250 community members last night, November 2nd from 5-7:30 p.m. The event included a resource fair, live music performances from Janelle Santos, and Los Renagados, dancing, pastries, tacos from Tacos Tumbras, hot camelia (a sweet cinnamon spiced herbal tea), ofrendas, crafts, lotería (a game of chance similar to bingo), face painting and a raffle.

The memory of last year’s District and State championship had haunted this year’s teams like a specter - and it seemed a new championship was the best way to relegate old expectations to the past.

5th Annual Columbia River Indian Autumn at Columbia Gorge Discovery Center on Nov. 4th

Columbia Gorge Discovery Center & Museum hosts the 5th annual Columbia River Indian Autumn on Saturday, November 4, 2023, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free and features artisans, musicians, cultural dancers, storytellers, food, and vendors from the Columbia River’s Native community and beyond. Salmon bake lunch tickets are on sale now at the Columbia Gorge Discovery Center & Museum.
