Broken Water Main, Repairs in Downtown The Dalles

Updated February 1st, 2021 3:30 PM Public Works has determined the cause of the broken water main. Road closures are expected to be in place all day Sunday January 31, 2021 through February 4, 2021. Some downtown businesses water service will be shut off during the water main repair. Downtown area customers may experience tap water to be discolored from stirred up sediment or milky white caused by tiny air bubbles.

TD Police seek information on armed assault that occurred on Friday, Jan. 22

On Jan. 22 at approximately 7 PM, officers with The Dalles Police Department responded to a report of an armed robbery on West 7th Street. Donald Lewis told police that armed individuals forcibly entered his residence. A struggle ensued and Lewis was forcibly restrained and severely assaulted and sustained significant injuries. Police are requesting information about the incident.

D21 Superintendent Search - Meet The Candidates

North Wasco County School District 21 has narrowed its search for a permanent superintendent to just three candidates. And one of them is expected to be hired on Friday, Jan. 22. CCCNews went head to head with each candidate for 30 minutes asking five questions about the future of TD schools. The district is set to hold a public forum with the candidates on Friday, Jan. 15 via a live broadcast on its Facebook page.
