To the Editor,
My name is Dr. Rachel Guild. I am an Ob/Gyn physician at Mid-Columbia Medical Center and a resident of The Dalles.
I write this letter in support of Nate Stice for Columbia Gorge Community College Board of Education.
My husband and I met Nate shortly after moving to The Dalles several years ago. We were out at a local restaurant when Nate recognized our new faces and invited us to his table to introduce us to his friends. We have since become close friends with Nate and his wife and this excellent group of people to whom he introduced us. This meeting is a perfect example of Nate’s approach to life. He is observant, caring, and always trying to make connections--all qualities needed in a College board member.
When one looks at Nate’s work, it makes sense that his career has seen him in places that leverage those skills, including advocating for students and higher education at the University of Oregon, and his current position helping communities in our area work through pressing issues. His experience will add additional insight to the group of thoughtful leaders on the CGCC campus.
Columbia Gorge Community College is a great asset to our region. Nate Stice will be a major asset to its board of education. Please vote for him in the upcoming election and follow his CGCC Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/stice4cgcc
Sincerely,
Rachel Guild, MD
