Ballots trickle in at Wasco County; Return down 50% compared to this time in 2020

The Dalles, Ore., Oct. 24, 2024 — Ballots are trickling into the Wasco County Courthouse after being delivered mostly on Saturday, Oct. 19. 

So far, Wasco County is currently at a 12.34% turnout with 2,336 ballots returned, according to Chief Deputy Elections Clerk Chrissy Zaugg.

In comparison to the 2020 General Election, “we were at 26.06% with 4,735 ballots returned,” she said this morning, Oct. 24. 

Voters have until election day, Nov. 5, to return ballots. 

The County Clerk's Office located in the Wasco County Courthouse at 511 Washington St., The Dalles is open 7 a.m. - 8 pm. 

Ballots that are mailed must be postmarked on or before Election Day. Ballots deposited in an official drop box must be received by 8 pm on Election Day. Unofficial election results will be released at 8 pm and at final count for the evening (typically around midnight) on Nov. 5.
