Bow Wow brings some big baskets at Bargeway; Bingo Winners abound

Bow Wow brings some big baskets at Bargeway; Bingo Winners abound

Detail Guy - Michael Held, 40, of The Dalles was like Klaus Meine of the Scorpions on Saturday night, Nov. 4, at the Bargeway Pub going 25 for 25 in an all-out blackout on his BINGO card at the Bow Wow Bingo and Brews fundraiser. The first-time event headed up by the board at the Home At Last animal shelter saw a great crowd as additional chairs and tables were called for as the room swelled to over 60 people. The minimum entrance fee was $25 and many bought additional Bingo cards, so you do the math. Held, after winning the coveted big blotter award, said he promised to good with his gift basket donated by Fix Auto body shop. He promised to detail numerous cars during the next year.

Keeping it Light - Steve Light of Freebridge Brewing was the esteemed caller at the Bow Wow. He was pretty handy with a call and even through in some social drinks. Freebridge also took over the taps for the night, and during an intermission, he said the brewery would be releasing a couple of new beers in the near future including a porter. More to come on that front, quaffing included.

Getting started - there is no better primer than 16 ounces in cold glass gushing water from condensation. Daubers sit at the ready.

A big crowd gathered at the Bargeway on Saturday night after an intense day of rain accompanied by thunder brought more than an inch to The Dalles and greater Mid-Columbia. After being cooped up all day, locals were ready to try their luck.
