Officials said climbing conditions on Mount Hood remain challenging due to variable snow conditions and warm temperatures, which can increase hazards on glaciers and steep slopes.

Rescue officials urged climbers to consider going with a professional guide, carry proper equipment, avoid glissading while wearing crampons, pack adequate clothing, and be willing to turn back if conditions become unsafe.

Authorities reminded climbers that conditions can change rapidly on the mountain and emphasized that preparation and caution are critical to preventing injuries and rescues.
