Dry Hollow Elementary's 100th day turns Car Parade
Dry Hollow Elementary staff took the 100th day of school to a new level this year with a host of crazy characters and a car parade to celebrate the effort students and parents have put into distance learning. The celebration is typically held for kindergarten, but it was expanded this year to give the whole community a chance to celebrate.
Kids were able to participate in an I Spy contest along the route and then hand in their scorecard for Dry Hollow swag at the end of the parade.
“It’s nice to see the kids in person,” said fifth-grade teacher Katie Ortega. “I have not seen some of them in-person since Halloween or Christmas.”
Kindergarten is scheduled to restart in-person classes on March 15 and other grades will then follow.
Becky Pearson and Laurie Stanton had a lot of fun with it. See them in their Sumo suits below.
