Feds approve Rivermark-Advantis merger; Credit union to expand to 19 branches

Rivermark CEO Seth Schaefer

The Dalles, Ore., July 29, 2024 —Rivermark Credit Union has received state and federal regulatory approval to pursue a merger with Advantis Credit Union, according to Rivermark CEO Seth Schaefer.

Locally, Rivermark has branches in The Dalles and Maupin.

”This is another exciting milestone in our journey to join forces to do more good − for our members and our community,” Schaefer said in a recent email.

The merger is expected to take place in late 2024 or 2025, and members shouldn't see any changes until then. The combined organization will have nearly 180,000 members and manage $3.3 billion in assets, making it the third-largest credit union in Oregon.

When the merger and transition are complete, customers will have access to 19 branches in Oregon and Washington.

Advantis Credit Union has nine branches in the Portland, Oregon metro area. They also have over 100 ATMs in the Portland area and more than 30,000 nationwide. Advantis members can access more than 30,000 surcharge-free ATMs in the United States and Canada, according to Advantis’ website.
