Getting Jacked Up
The Dalles, Ore., Sept. 17, 2024 — Victor Herrera was putting the muscle to his jackhammer today on East 8th Street as he and fellow workmates took out some concrete stairs on a 1922 Arts and Crafts bungalow in preparation for replacing them.
Rogelio Chavelas and Francisco Cruz were also providing some heavy hits with a sludge hammer and concrete removal at the house, 320 E. 8th Street. in The Dalles.
There is a lot more to come as the three remove and replace the sidewalks and path to the front door as well before they put it all back together, preserving another great historic home in TD. The 1,700-square-foot home features three baths and three bedrooms with an unfinished basement.
And the intangible- that classic bungalow design!
The home sold for $292,729 in June, according to Wasco County property records.
Rogelio, Victor and Francisco are all from The Dalles and work for Alba’s Construction LLC.
