Victor Herrera was putting the muscle to his jackhammer today on East 8th Street as he and fellow workmates took out some concrete stairs on a 1922 Arts and Crafts bungalow in preparation for replacing them.

Santiago Valle, 47, of The Dalles was lifting a ton of concrete this morning at the corner of 8th and Kelly streets in The Dalles as he leveled out and stacked 60-pound Manner Stones along the side of the 1910 Craftsman home owned by Gary Wart.

The Dalles, Ore., Oct. 3, 2023 - JJ Castro and his crew of Ramiro and Jorge were working the concrete along a new sidewalk out front of Cascade Square near Dutch Bros this morning.
