From one of musical theatre’s most exciting contemporary composers comes Ordinary Days, a refreshingly honest and funny musical about making real connections in the city that never sleeps (but probably should at some point).

Four young New Yorkers intersect as they each search for fulfillment, happiness, love, and cabs. Through a score of vibrant, memorable songs, their experiences ring startlingly true to life. Ordinary Days is for anyone who has ever struggled to appreciate the simple things in a complex place. With equal doses of humor and poignancy, it celebrates how millions of individual stories combine in unexpected ways to make New York City such a unique and extraordinary home.

‘Playing With Men’ with Jon Bennett

Comedy Night at The Bingen

Playing With Men

with Jon Bennett

Saturday, April 4 - 7:30 p.m.

Tickets at:

https://www.bigbritches.org/playing-with-men-tickets

Playing With Men is another deeply personal and thought-provoking show from Jon Bennett, reflecting on his early years as a talented junior footballer in Southern Australia. His football career, once filled with promise, faced an abrupt halt when real-life challenges and a community tragedy forced him to reconsider his path. Now, as a celebrated comedic storyteller, Bennett uses this show to explore themes of masculinity, community, friendships, life, and death, all through the lens of football.

Poetry with Buddy Wakefield

Gorge Speakeasy Presents: An Evening with Buddy Wakefield: World Champion Spoken Word Artist

The Ruins in Hood River

Buddy’s been featured on HBO's Def Poetry Jam and the BBC, signed to both Sage Francis' Strange Famous Records and Ani DiFranco's Righteous Babe Records, and has performed in over 2,000 venues across the globe — from the Great Lawn of Central Park to San Quentin State Penitentiary.

Sat. 4/4/26, Indoor Venue, 18+

Tix: $20 in advance (click here) or $25 at the door. Kaylan Krebsbach opens the show.

In 2001, Buddy left his desk job in Gig Harbor, WA, sold everything he owned, moved into a Honda Civic, and set out to “live for a living,” touring poetry venues for two years. He never stopped.

Buddy isn’t concerned with what poetry is or is not. So, this performance is raw, funny, disarming, and unlike anything you've seen in the Gorge.

Buddy Wakefield is a three-time Individual World Poetry Slam champion, an actor, writer, and the most toured performance poet in history.

He’s been a busker in Amsterdam, a street vendor in Spain, a team leader in Singapore, a re-delivery boy, a candy maker, a street sweeper, a bartender, a maid, a construction worker, a bull rider, a notably slow triathlete, and more.
