Hood River & Trails - that's like bread & butter; Celebrate Indian Creek Trail Extension on April 22

The new section of the Indian Creek Trail was constructed on a parcel of land conserved by Columbia Land Trust in 2019 and is about half a mile (.5 mi) long, extending the existing Indian Creek Trail network, which is about 3.8 miles long.

The new section of the trail was constructed by Hood River Valley Parks & Rec. and several volunteers over the winter.
Towards the southern end, there is a nice viewpoint overlooking the Hood River. The land the trail is on adjoins the 400-acre Powerdale Natural Area, which Columbia Land Trust stewards for fish and wildlife habitat, public recreation, and tribal fishing access.

The new section of trail can be accessed from the corner of Betty Lou and 2nd Ave in Hood River. It's not reflected on Google Maps yet, but the trail runs south from this point, somewhat paralleling 2nd Ave. to the east.
The south entrance point is on Sieverkropp Drive (here on Google maps: https://goo.gl/maps/ta51QvEWFyT5Py7z9) and another entrance is on 2nd St. There is already a marker on Google maps for it.
