Start School Right with a Well-Child Visit and a Free Backpack
Several local clinics are teaming up to give children a healthy head start for the school year with check ups, immunization, even a free backpack with school supplies.
With the rise of COVID in the last year and a half, immunizations for children have fallen off. But parents can take heart in this second opportunity to get their children protected against measles, whooping cough, rubella and other dangerous contagious viruses.
At the same time, children can also receive a well-child visit. It's a chance to get regular updates about your child's health and development. Your health care team will take measurements, conduct a head-to-toe examination, and offer you a chance to talk with a healthcare professional.
The program is sponsored by North Central Public Health District, One Community Health The Dalles, Mid-Columbia Medical Center Pediatrics and Family Medicine.
Together this team of child advocates is pushing to create support for children and their parents as they undertake a new school year. The bedrock of learning is based on children being in good health and ready to learn when arriving at school. Here’s a chance for you to set the foundation for a great school year.
And don’t forget, every student gets a brand new high-quality backpack with school supplies such as colored pencils and pens. Again, no charge.
Talk about win, win, win.
But make an appointment now to call dibs on a healthy child and cool backpack. Supplies are limited.
Appointments can be made with any of the sponsors mentioned above.
