A little 'trail magic' at Pacific Crest Trail Days in Cascade Locks
Thousands flocked to Cascade Locks this weekend, Aug. 20-22, as the annual PCT Days kicked into high gear after a hiatus during COVID.
Dozens of vendors, hikers and those through-hikers with impeccable timing came together on Friday and Saturday for some fun and games.
Above - “Wild” - that’s his trail name- from Ocean Shores, Wash., ran the obstacle course at the Merrell booth. He knocked it off in 20 seconds while the camera person was also blown over. See black shoes.
He had to fill a bucket with water using Crocks, make a banana peanut butter wrap, and then put a sticker on the hiker after traversing the kiddie pool while blindfolded.
Pacific Crest Trail Days is an annual summer festival that celebrates and promotes hiking, camping, backpacking & outdoor stewardship. Attendees participate in activities, games, & presentations, win awesome gear at the raffle, and get great deals on the latest outdoor products from sponsors at the Gear Expo. The day featured talks about essential items to carry, leave no trace camping, as well a huge raffle at the end that raised thousands of dollars for trail stewardship.
The Pacific Crest Trail begins in southern California at the Mexican border. The trail traverses some of the Northwest’s most gorgeous country as it winds a total distance of 2,650 miles through California, Oregon, and Washington until reaching the Canadian border.
