It's so cold chunks of ice are floating down the Klickitat River
By Cole Goodwin
A wintery cold snap hit the gorge this weekend complete with snow and ice.
Temperatures fell below 20° Farenheit last night, on January 29th, 2023 in Lyle, WA.
Parts of the Klickitat River banks froze overnight.
As temperatures rose this morning, chunks of ice and snow could be seen floating out into the Columbia River from the mouth of the Klickitat River.
The gorge’s snowpack this winter is still the historical median.
