Jazmine De La Cruz Signs with Lane Community College

The Dalles Ore., May 9, 2024 — The Dalles High School held a signing day ceremony for Senior Jazmine De La Cruz, on May 8th, at 3 p.m. to celebrate the continuation of her education and her soccer career at Lane Community College.
When asked how it felt to be signed into the school De La Cruz said “I’m excited to meet new people and improve my skills academically and athletically.”
De La Cruz said that she is looking forward to playing soccer and wants to study business and marketing. “I want to have my own business someday or to be involved with one,” she said.
When asked what she was most looking forward to, De La Cruz said “Playing soccer at a higher level and meeting new team members.”
She ended by saying she was going to “Take it day by day, remember the big picture, and not focus on a small one.”
De La Cruz’s family, including her father Jaime, mother Tessa, and brothers Enrique and Dominic all showed up to support and celebrate Jazmine’s accomplishments.
“We are really proud of her, this is a huge parenting goal. We will have to plan to visit Eugene a lot more,” said De La Cruz’s father Tessa. Jaime, her father followed with “She has come a long way. She has played soccer since she was a kid.”
Friends, coaches, and teachers were also present to celebrate her accomplishments.
