Leverage the Good: United Way urges nonprofits to apply for funds

Each year, the United Way of the Columbia Gorge supports local nonprofits through grant funding, and in the 2024-2025 funding cycle, we awarded $309,500 to 30 organizations that are making a real impact in our community.
This year, we’re excited to continue empowering those dedicated to creating positive change. We encourage all eligible nonprofit organizations to apply.
The United Way Grant deadline is Feb. 28, 2025.

Eligibility for Funding:
Any 501(c)(3) human service agency or program that has been serving basic human needs in the Columbia Gorge (Hood River, Klickitat, Skamania, Wasco, and Sherman counties) for a minimum of two years by the application deadline is eligible to apply.
Types of Organizations UWCG Funds:
501(c)(3) organizations located in our service region (Skamania and Klickitat counties in Washington, and Hood River, Wasco, and Sherman counties in Oregon)
Programs addressing basic human needs (food, shelter, emotional and physical health)
Community improvement efforts (youth outreach, education)
Types of Organizations UWCG Does NOT Fund:
Government agencies
Political parties, campaigns, or groups focused on influencing legislation
Capital campaigns or large-scale projects
Religious events or organizations with a purely denominational purpose
Pro-choice or Pro-life organizations
Organized sports teams
