This Week In Gorge Entertainment

By Jim Drake

Entertainment to Help You Get the Most Out of Your Entertainment

You never know how your Home Entertainment Collection can help you with Surviving Real World Entertainment. Last month I finally watched my 30th Anniversary Blu-ray Edition of Saturday Night Fever and it turns out that one of the Bonus Features is a “Dance Like John Travolta” dance lesson.

A professional dance instructor details all of the moves used in the movie. I never thought that would come in handy until I wrote this week’s column, as a Disco Dance Movie Night is coming to the Granada Jan. 27 and 28.

Don’t worry if you can’t do all of the acrobatics required, there’s a lighted-floor pattern to get you through the basics. I think the disc also contained some trivia that indicated the original dance floor was reportedly sold on Ebay, but no one knows where it actually is.

Speaking of Trivia, Gorges Beer in Cascade Locks has a trivia night coming up on Groundhog Day. Now, I’m not sure if watching the 1993 classic “Groundhog Day,” will help in winning first place, but the listing mentions Bad Movie Jokes and something about a local mammal being used as the “mascot” for this event. But honestly, the mascot looks more like the villain in “Caddyshack.”
