Phil and his spouse, Melody, have been working on the home for the past eight years, adding a two-story addition for 1,440 square feet of additional space. Foundation - they did it. Framing - yep. Electrical - yes, sir. Plumbing - 10-4. Phil, a native of New Jersey, moved to Oregon in 1977, and after he and Melody married, he said, “Okay, now I can build you a house.” Pinto had pictures of Melody bending rebar in preparation for pouring the foundation. He said the labor of love was built through a network of skilled friends. Contractor Roland Miller, plumber Steve Watkins and electrician Mike Telfer all brought some knowledge and laughs to the table.
