The Dalles, Ore., May 18, 2024 — A 22-year-old man was arrested on Thursday, May 16 on allegations that he drew a pistol in a road rage incident that occurred on Interstate 84 near Celilo Park at around 3 p.m.
Oregon State Police Lt. Jason Calloway received reports that the driver of a green Ford Ranger held a pistol up in a dispute over driving behavior, according to the OSP log.
Calloway stopped a Ford Ranger with a matching license plate at Milepost 77 in the westbound lane near Rowena.
The male driver admitted to getting in a dispute with another driver over driving behavior, Calloway reported. “Both Drivers flipped each other off,” the Lt. wrote.
The driver then denied being in possession of a firearm. However, his passenger divulged a 45 Caliber Glock 21 that was in a bag behind the driver’s seat, the report states.
“The pistol was loaded with 14 rounds,” Calloway reported.
“The driver was then questioned about the pistol and admitted during the dispute over the driving behavior that he removed the holstered pistol from the bag and held it up with the muzzle pointed down so the other driver would back off. He said the other driver did back off. The driver (Luis Edwin Lemus Torres, 22) was issued a criminal citation for menacing and released. The pistol was seized for evidence,” Calloway wrote.
