By Joshuah Albert

The Dalles, Ore. June 7, 2024 — Dry Hollow Elementary School celebrated the last day of school with a “Field Day” of fun activities today June 7. The annual tradition aims to provide a fun and memorable experience for students.

"This is a great way for the students to get outside and build some good memories with their friends," said Courtney Kiser, 5th Grade Teacher at Dry Hollow. "The fifth graders will be going to middle school after this, so it's also a good send-off for them."

Summer has shown it’s face with temperatures reaching 90° in The Dalles today. Students got a chance to cool off at the end of the event when The Dalles Fire Department arrived to spray the students with water, much to their excitement and joy.

Students, thoroughly soaked and smiling, marked the end of the event and thier graduation from elementary school to middle school with laughter and cheer.
