SWAT TEAM UPDATE: 26-year-old HR man in custody; suspected Stolen Lottery tickets found with barricaded man

Editor’s note - This is an updated press release from Wednesday’s call out for a tactical team to remove a suspected thief from a hotel room in Hood River on the evening of Jan. 19.

After 4.5 hours of verbal negotiations and pepper spray use, Pedro Ayala-Solorio surrendered. He was then taken to Providence Hospital for medical evaluation and then transported to NORCOR for the following charges: Burglary II, Theft 1, Criminal Mischief II.
Ayala Solorio remained in jail this morning, Friday, Jan. 21, at NORCOR and was being held on a $50,000 bond.

From Jan. 19:
Police are on-site at 2429 Cascade Avenue in Hood River - allegedly where a burglary suspect claiming to be armed has barricaded himself in a hotel room.
Hood River Police Department says Cascade Avenue from 20th to Rand Road is closed while officers wait for assistance from a regional tactical team.
(Witnesses corroborate Tactical team & vehicle were seen headed from The Dalles to Hood River)
The public is asked to remain clear from the area & choose alternate travel routes
