East 12th Street Upgrades Advance at No Cost to Homeowners as $1.7M Housing Project awaits Buyer
Sidewalks, storm drains and safer access are finally coming to East 12th Street, funded with federal relief dollars and city reserves. Homeowners won’t pay a dime for the $1.9 million project. But while the road work moves ahead, the long-debated 80-unit Grove housing development remains stalled. The subdivision land is now listed for $1.699 million, leaving its future uncertain as the city’s housing needs continue to grow.

Randy Olmstead has applied to The Dalles Community Development Department to split 5 lots into 9 on West 12th street near where it intersects with Myrtle St. The request to re-plat asks to create lots ranging in size from 4,025 square feet to 4,921 square feet in the high-density residential zone.
