A 17-year-old horse that escaped from a trailer caused a three-vehicle crash on Interstate 84 near Exit 97 near Celilo Park on Sunday evening, Jan. 5th, Oregon State Police reported.

A man who allegedly hit another car on Highway 26 in Wasco County, rolled his own pickup, and then fled the scene on foot was arrested late Wednesday.

This morning at approximately 10 a.m., Wasco County 911 received multiple reports of a delivery truck that had gone into the Columbia River at Milepost 99 near Celilo Park. The Wasco County Sheriff's Office and Oregon State Police responded as well as Mid Columbia Fire & Rescue, Umatilla Fire (in the area for training), and ODOT.

An accident occurred on September, 13th, at approximately 10:47 p.m. on I-84 in The Dalles, OR, near Coastal Farm and Ranch. Police reports indicated that a car crashed into a tree, leaving two individuals injured, prompting a response from emergency services, including Life Flight.

A driver who fell asleep at the wheel on New Year’s Day drove a Subaru Forrester through a brick wall and into two different rooms at Spencer, Libby & Powell at 1100 Kelly Avenue in The Dalles. In an AAA survey, nearly all drivers say that drowsy driving is a serious safety threat, yet 3 out of 10 respondents admitted to driving when they were so tired they had a hard time keeping their eyes open on at least one occasion in the past month.

A crash on Interstate 84 near milepost 61 on Saturday, July 9, highlights the need to really cinch loads down when hauling items in vehicles through the windy and gusty gorge.
