Council pushes ahead airport development with legal agreements, gives The Dalles Area Chamber a contract nod after a competitive process, and supports major library improvement.

Katie McCloud of The Dalles is shining on the Oregon North Coast. She was recently awarded for her outstanding social media campaign. McCloud spent a decade working in The Dalles and parlayed her experience and skill set from The Dalles Area Chamber of Commerce to come up with a Rise To The Challenge campaign in Seaside that was recognized statewide.

TD City Council approved $500,000 in funding for houseless navigation center, $400,000 for Sorosis Park, purchased property to provide infrastructure and additional land for housing, heard the first presentation on an Expanded Chamber Marketing contract and landed a deal with it’s new City Manager.

Council will hear about or consider items that total more than $1.9 million tonight, April 11th, at their regular meeting. The Dalles Area Chamber of Commerce’s budget, a new contract for future City Manager Mathew Klebes, and money requests from Parks and Rec. as well as Mid-Columbia Community Action Council are in the mix.

The Dalles Area Chamber of Commerce will host the Veterans Day Parade and Starlight Parade with Community Tree Lighting for 2021.
