A $2.3 million grant will help the Columbia Gorge Health Council expand community health worker training while strengthening connections between health care and underserved Gorge communities.

Community Health Workers are members of the community they serve. They build trusting relationships with community members, social services agencies and healthcare providers. They are vital in ensuring people get the help they need. Training starts April 17th and ends August 22nd, 2025

The 2024 CHA found that the lack of affordable housing and access to medical and behavioral health care, ranging from adequate services of all care types to workforce development opportunities, are opportunities to improve health across Wasco and Hood River Counties.
