What a great way to stay toasted on a cold day. Exit 69 was as good a Cold IPA as I have had. I put it up there with Boneyard’s RPM. So good in fact, we bought the four-pack of 16-ouncers to share during the week. It was a short week. At 6.3 percent alcohol, it had a good kick and a lightness that led to a second pint.
The Local Dish: New Sandwich Cart brings flavor boom in fat sandwiches
The menu was small but deep offering a host of different sandwiches, two soups, chips and cookies. Modestly priced between $8 and $10 a sandwich these bad boys delivered up some satisfaction without breaking the bank. All four of us salivated over differing items, and we took off our gloves and knocked out a sandwich superfecta to make a New York deli person salivate.
Bamba's Indian Food Opens in TD; Camas Couple living the American Dream
The couple had been searching for the right spot for more than two years when the former Pho Saigon restaurant space in The Dalles came up for rent. “We saw this location through social media,” Deepak Bamba said. The restaurant is centrally located in town and has excellent visibility in the business core in the retail level of the Commodore II apartments. The building is inviting with easy pedestrian access. “We very much liked it, right away.”
First Friday Looks to be a riot of Music, Food and Fun in Downtown TD, June 3
Over 30 businesses will be open late Friday, June 3 as a grassroots movement is fueling some really fun times in downtown The Dalles. Businesses will feature their favorite things about summer. From sidewalk chalk art, live music, special treats, grand openings and more it will be an amazing night to kick off the summer. Hours 5 to 8 p.m.
Schreffler & Volunteers stuff a little love into D21 Backpack Program
For a decade local volunteers have been reaching out to D21 students with offerings of food to help them during the weekend and better prepare them for school come Monday morning. It’s a well-oiled machine and one that The Dalles can point to with pride. Learn about some of the people that make it happen.
Locals invited to town hall on making Lyle Food Pantry mobile
"We also see an opportunity to expand service to other locations such as Dallesport, Wishram, Trout Lake, and perhaps at In Lieu sites to serve our Native communities," aid Leslie Naramore, WAGAP Executive Director. "A Mobile Food Pantry will allow us to do this."
