Despite the loss of 56 homes to the Rowena Fire, no fatalities have been confirmed as of Sunday, according to an official assessment by the Oregon State Fire Marshal’s Office.

A 58-year-old woman recently died after spilling out of a raft in the Upper White Salmon River. She was pinned under water for several minutes before a guide located her on Saturday, July 15. She died despite efforts to revive her and additional care at a nearby hospital.
