Kara Davis increased her lead by one vote in her race against Travis Marston for Wasco County District Attorney. The race has been a nail-biter for arguably the most important position in law enforcement in Wasco County. It appears Davis has captured the seat.

“I am committed to ensuring that those who commit crimes are held accountable, that the people they harm are heard, and to work hard to reduce the impact of addiction and mental illness,” Davis said in announcing her candidacy.

Matthew Ellis was sworn in as the new Wasco County District Attorney by Seventh District State Circuit Court Judge Janet Stauffer on Monday, Jan. 4. at the Wasco County Courthouse.
