Montira’s Thai Cuisine at 302 W. Second Street in The Dalles is currently closed due to labor shortages, according to its owners. “We’re closed for now. We just don’t have the people to work,” said owner Ken Sommerfelt this afternoon, Feb. 13. Sommerfelt was unable to comment further.
I dipped my rolls into creamy peanut sauce with a bit of the provided chili oil on top for some heat. This makes for the most wonderful bit. The peanut butter provides fat to the dish that compliments the vegetables in the roll. The Thai basil has the most wonderful aromatic smell. It makes you wonder where Montira’s garden is located in the restaurant.
Montira’s Thai Cuisine at 302 W. Second St. is cooking up something good this morning, Wednesday, Oct. 21. Their marketing department - my money is on owner Ken Sommerfelt- is also having a little fun with it.
