The Dalles City Council approved $950,000 for pipe and supplies for the Dog River Pipe replacement slated to start this year. The 3.5-mile pipeline delivering water to the city water treatment plant can leak up to a million gallons per day during peak runoff.
The Dalles City Council is poised to make an agreement with the Oregon Department of Transportation to widen West Sixth Street at its regular meeting scheduled for tonight, Jan. 24, starting at 5:30 p.m. Councilors are will also consider utility work on Trevitt Street and property development on E. 18th Street.
The Dalles City Council will hold an emergency meeting to work toward providing temporary shelters for houseless residents of The Dalles.
The meeting is set for noon today.
