The Dalles, Ore., June 24, 2024 — A 22-year-old man wanted in connection with a deadly shooting early Saturday in The Dalles was arrested and remained in the Clark County Jail in Vancouver, Wash., on June 22nd on a fugitive warrant.

Noe Zaragoza was arrested in Camas, Wash. on Saturday, June 22, according to a Facebook post by The City of The Dalles Police Department.

He is scheduled to be arraigned in Clark County today at 1:30 p.m.

“Mr. Zaragoza's apprehension was a coordinated effort that showcased exemplary interagency cooperation and dedication,” according to a Facebook post by The Dalles Police Department.

Zaragoza is being linked to a shooting that occurred just after midnight on Saturday.

Police were called to the scene at 1015 Walnut Street around 12:21 a.m. on June 22, where they discovered a deceased male whose identity has yet to be released, pending family notification. Police determined that several witnesses were present at the scene but had left before they could be interviewed.

The Dalles Police identified Noe Zaragoza, born October 21, 2001, as the suspect.

“We’re still working on the case and were working to identify other people that were at the scene when the incident took place,” said Tom Worhty, The Dalles City Police Chief.

Police said they believed he was “armed and dangerous” and asked anyone who thought they’d seen Zaragoza or a car associated with him to call 911.

Collaboration between The Dalles Police Hood River Police Department, Hood River County Sheriff’s Office, Wasco County Sheriff’s Office, Oregon State Police and Vancouver Police Department led to the man’s arrest.

“This case will be referred to the Wasco County District Attorney’s Office for prosecution,” according to the TD Police Facebook Post.
