TD man Arrested After Shots Were Fired at Hood River County Deputy and Civilian during Odell Wedding

Odell, Ore., July 27, 2026 — A 29-year-old The Dalles man was arrested early Sunday after allegedly threatening people at a wedding in Odell and later firing multiple shots toward a Hood River County sheriff's deputy and a civilian, according to the Hood River County Sheriff's Office.

The incident began shortly after midnight on Sunday, July 26, when dispatchers received a report that a man had threatened to shoot another man at a wedding in the 4300 block of Summit Drive before leaving the gathering.

According to the sheriff's office, a deputy arrived and was interviewing the reporting party beside a pickup truck across the road from the wedding venue when a man stepped out of an orchard on the opposite side of the road and fired multiple rounds in their direction before running back into the orchard.

Neither the deputy nor the civilian was struck by the gunfire. The deputy immediately moved nearby people to safety behind vehicles.

Additional deputies responded to the scene, along with officers from the Hood River Police Department, but the shooter was not immediately located.

Investigators later developed probable cause to arrest Abraham Delgado Bucio, 29, of The Dalles. According to the sheriff's office, Bucio allegedly threatened wedding guests before attempting to shoot one of them, but the firearm did not discharge.

A vehicle believed to be associated with the suspect was later spotted by Hood River police and followed into Wasco County. Deputies from the Wasco County Sheriff's Office, officers from The Dalles Police Department and Hood River police conducted a traffic stop, and Bucio was taken into custody.

He was lodged in jail on multiple felony charges related to the incident. The investigation remains ongoing.
