Tony Furtado at Ruins Nov. 11

Tony Furtado

Tony Furtado has been on my Radar for a Long Time. He’d probably appreciate it if I told him I’ve still got (and still listen to) his 1994 CD Full Circle, and I recently found a copy of a live show - Bare Bones - hanging around the local thrifts. Critics rightfully say Furtado is a virtuoso on banjo and slide guitar because he’s continually taken Roots and Bluegrass music of the past into his catalog of 17 albums and has made his own folk-rock crossover genre. Umm, make that 18, as a new Banjo album hit’s the airwaves this month. Catch Tony (other sources say the band will be a trio) on Thursday, Nov. 11, at Hood River’s Ruins. 6-9 p.m., ticketed show. Proof of Vax required.
