Wasco County man arrested after failing to appear for sentencing in child sex abuse case
Lucas R. Blevins
The Dalles, Ore., May 26, 2026 — Lucas R. Blevins, a Wasco County man who failed to appear for sentencing earlier this month in a child sex abuse case, has been arrested and lodged at the Multnomah County Jail.
According to jail records, Blevins, 31, was booked into the Multnomah County Jail at approximately 12:34 p.m. Tuesday, May 26. He is currently being held at the Multnomah County Inverness Jail, with no projected release date listed.
The arrest comes after a Wasco County Circuit Court judge issued a warrant when Blevins failed to appear for his scheduled sentencing hearing on May 14.
As previously reported by Columbia Community Connection, Blevins had entered guilty pleas in a case involving allegations of sexual abuse of a child. He was scheduled to be sentenced in Wasco County Circuit Court but did not appear, prompting the court to issue a warrant for his arrest.
At the time, prosecutors informed the court they had no information regarding Blevins' whereabouts. Defense attorney Brett Callister said he had attempted to contact his client but had been unsuccessful.
Court records show Blevins remained at large for nearly two weeks before being taken into custody Tuesday.
It was not immediately clear Tuesday whether Blevins would be transported directly back to Wasco County or when a new sentencing hearing would be scheduled.
Blevins remains in custody pending further court proceedings.
Editor's note: Under Oregon law, criminal defendants are presumed innocent unless and until convicted. Blevins has previously entered guilty pleas in the underlying case and is awaiting sentencing.
