The Hood River-White Salmon Bridge Replacement Project will receive an additional $8 million in federal funding after Congress approved two separate requests late last week. This latest round of funding comes just months after the project was awarded a $ 200 million federal grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation.

The Washington State Department of Commerce 2023-25 Housing Trust Fund 2024 Supplemental budget includes three million dollars ($3m) in direct appropriation to Columbia Cascade Housing Corporation’s (CCHC) Assisted Living Facility in Western Klickitat County. The Columbia Gorge Food Security Coalition sold out a free community screening of “Dolores”, an inspiring documentary that explores the life and legacy of Latina community organizer, labor leader and civil rights activist Dolores Huerta on Thursday, Feb. 29.

Hood River Latino Network and the Rural Organizing Project received the keys to open up an Immigrant Help Center (IHC) at 1406 12th St, Suite 2, in Hood River, this week. The IHC will act as a community hub and wrap around service center. Programming will include cultural events, leadership skills development, and assistance navigating mental and health services.
