Scholarships will benefit four students enrolled in the college’s Early Childhood Education program this fall, said Wendy Patton, executive director of Columbia Gorge Community College Foundation. The awards will help students complete the program and enter the workforce.

Eli Howard and the Greater Good will play a free outside concert at The Dalles Art Center this Friday, May 27, with festivities starting at 5 p.m. and music at 6 p.m. They are taking over the block - streets closed on Fourth outside TDAC - for the second time in two months.

Zora Richardson and Alex Rector, two senior vocalists from The Dalles High School will be giving a recital Sunday, May 22 at 3:00 pm at the First Christian Church, The Dalles. Both students have been under the instruction of private voice instructor Shawn Lutz/Lutz Music Studio for the past three years. They will be presenting from Classical to Musical Theater.

Wasco County Master Gardeners will host their annual Plant Sale on May 7th, 2022 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at The Dalles City Park. Proceeds from the sale will benefit the Master Gardners and NORCOR’s greenhouse program from incarcerated youth.

Serious Theater in partnership with the Oregon Community Foundation (OCF) present a Mother’s Day recital at Zion Lutheran Church in The Dalles on Sunday, May 8 at 2:00 P.M. (10th and Union Streets).

They will bring the Cat in the Hat, Horton the Elephant, Gertrude McFuzz, Mayzie La Bird, the Whos in Whoville and other Seuss favorites to life with their production of Seussical JR.

The Dalles High School Drama Department’s spring musical “Spin: A Musical Myth” has two final showings on Thursday and Friday, April 28th and 29th. “Spin” is a musical retelling of the myth of Arachne and Athena set to a rock, jazz, and folk score.

Wasco County seeks applicants to serve on the Public Transportation Advisory Committee. The advisory committee considers how transportation funds should be spent and provides the governing body with information about their community’s special transportation needs.
