This past weekend May 29-31 the 14U Sluggers baseball team had their final tournament in Hillsboro. They captured first place once again in the Northwest Nations Memorial Day Challenge.

12U Sluggers Finish Second in Newberg Tournament
On May 22nd and May 23rd the 12U Sluggers baseball team competed in a tournament at Jaquith Park in Newberg. They captured 2nd place in the tournament.
Waterline in East TD repaired and crews still working to restore system
City of The Dalles Public Works crews worked through the night to repair a water line near the intersection of 14th and Quinton Streets, which has officials recommending they turn off the mains to their houses.
Grass Fire near Discovery Center around 2 p.m. June 2
Police blocked access to Interstate 84 and Highway 30 West of The Dalles on Wednesday afternoon when a grass fire started blowing large plumes of smoke over the highway. Multiple firefighters and an air attack were brought in to douse the flames. The fire was burning as of the posting of this story at 2:55 p.m.

Kiwanis Programs Loaded for June 2021
The Dalles Kiwanis have a loaded schedule for its weekly programs this June. Lisa Commander, education director at the Columbia Gorge Discovery Center, and Andrea Klaas, executive director of Port of The Dalles, will be speaking in their areas of expertise. Downtown TD Commercial Building sells, multi use plan in the works
In a push to grow local news coverage and provide a public space where ideas can be shared to better lift standards for all in The Dalles and the Gorge, CCCNews and Immense Imagery are moving to the former Tenneson Engineering building, 409 Lincoln Street.
