TDHS Girls Basketball Suffocate Parkrose in Home Win
The Dalles Girls Basketball team played against the Parkrose Broncos last night, Dec. 7th, in a non-league game and absolutely dominated on both sides of the ball. The Hawks won in a 48-12 blowout.
Columbia Riverkeeper Sues Army Corps Over Illegal Pollution and Lack of Clean Water Act Permitting
Columbia Riverkeeper is suing the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for alleged illegal pollution of the Columbia River with hot water, oil, and toxic chemicals. Columbia Riverkeeper alleged in today’s complaint that four dams operated by the Army Corps on the Columbia River between Portland, OR, and Tri-Cities, WA, discharge illegal pollution in violation of the Clean Water Act.
Columbia Gorge Food Bank Seeks City Approval for Renovations
Columbia Gorge Food Bank is seeking administrative action from the City of The Dalles to get approval to renovate an existing 10,000 square foot warehouse located at 3525 Crates Way. The renovations to improve food insecurity services for the region are expected to cost upwards of $2 million.

The Wasco County Cultural Trust Coalition is now accepting grant applications for 2022 projects. Grants are available to individuals and organizations for projects in the arts, humanities, and heritage.
1st Annual Turkey Trot draws hundreds, raises $3,260 for Sorosis Park
On December 8th at 9:30 a.m. at the Columbia Gorge Toyota and Honda we will be doing a check presentation with Scott Baker from Parks and Recreation to donate all funds raised from the event. We have a total of, $3,260 that will be donated specifically towards the Sorosis Park replanting fund.
Hedges celebrate 70th Wedding Anniversary
Family gathered to celebrate the recent 70th wedding anniversary of Delbert and Shirley Hedges of Parkdale. They were married in Port Angeles, Wa. in 1960. They moved from Madera, Ca. to Parkdale to raise their young family.

Jamboree Brings High Flying Play for TDHS Basketball
The Dalles Riverhawks boys basketball team played in their annual Jamboree before their season started last week on Dec 2nd in Corbett. With their numbers limited due to sickness, the Hawks did phenomenal with what they had. The varsity team posted a 2-1 record while the JV team went undefeated.
