Nick has grit. He will stand up for what he believes is right even when it costs him in the form of campaign contributions or endorsements. He did this with his stance on data centers. He has maintained his position on health care, education, and equality. He is not a Johnny come lately jumping into a race simply because it seems winnable in this election cycle.

He grew up in rural Oregon and cares deeply about our farm and forest lands that are what really make Oregon, Oregon. Whether I am meeting with him in Salem in his role as a legislative staffer or talking to him on my farm, I know that I am working with a person of integrity who is working tirelessly to protect and improve Oregon.

Hank is our best choice for State Representative, he’s identified the threat to our healthcare posed by federally-mandated Medicaid changes coming in 2027, and he’s the only candidate promoting a plan to respond.

Our Commander in Chief is making very clear his desire to have the military ready and willing to follow his directions, including his goals of retribution and revenge against those who have opposed him. Portland is fighting back against his call for the mobilization of 200 Oregon National Guard and other soldiers, raising the possibility of it becoming the first city to provide the training he seeks. We can hope any could-be lemmings will recognize and loudly condemn this as a leap we should all avoid. 

All citizens of the United States of America may not know they are beneficiaries of a miracle – but they should. Now.

I was a regular OPB listener for over 60 years, and for most of them, as an active Republican. I had served as county campaign chair for Republican Senator Mark Hatfield… My departure as a Republican came with its conversion to the Trump MAGA Party.

I’m writing out of concern for what’s packed into the so-called “Big Beautiful Bill” now moving through Congress. Supporters say it helps working Americans, but rural communities like ours stand to lose the most.

Very serious. The strongest proof yet came from the soldiers behind the President during his recent speech at Fort Bragg.
