Deadline to file candidacy for Hood River Council is Aug. 27

Candidate filings are still being accepted for Hood River Mayor and three City Councilor positions. These positions will be voted on in the November 5, 2024, General Election. The filing deadline is no later than 5 p.m., Tuesday, August 27, 2024.

All positions are for a four-year terms starting January 2025.

Councilor Megan Saunders has announced she will not be running for re-election.

The Mayor position is a 4-year term beginning January 2025. It is currently held by Paul Blackburn.

Mark Zanmiller, Megan Saunders, and Gladys Rivera. currently hold the Council seats.

The Mayor is eligible for a monthly stipend of 20% of the Area Median Income, currently $1,484. Councilors are eligible for a monthly stipend of 10% of the Area Median Income, currently $742.  In addition, a childcare stipend is available to the Mayor or a City Councilor. The City provides a laptop or iPad for Council-related business.
